Description
Today I’m bringing you original London swinging 60’s! These were sourced from the original owner & are true rare gems!
Simpsons of Piccadilly lime green silk /cotton blend 60’s pants, made in France for the trendy UK market.
The tradition of Simpson garment retail began with the establishment of a bespoke tailoring company in Whitechapel, by Simeon Simpson in 1894. The association of Simpson’s with the trademark ‘DAKS’ (combining ‘Slacks’ and ‘Dad’) only began in c.1934, when Simeon’s son, Alec Simpson, took over the company and created the new brand name for an innovative ready-to-wear tailored menswear range. Alec also invented and patented a new ‘self-supporting’ waistband and added womenswear to his clothing range, particularly the popular adapted men’s slacks.
Throughout the last few decades of the 20th century, the store branched out on the variety of stock and sold other brands such as Armani, Mary Quant and Christian Dior. Simpsons Piccadilly for tailoring was considered some of the best in London.
These are in great condition, and the waist measures approximately is 26”.
