Description
Here we have an original retro 1970’s Johnson of Australia 13 piece tea set.
“Johnsons opened their Australian factory at Croydon, Queensland in 1957; this was run through a firm also known as Sovereign Pottery Ltd. Like the English parent company they produced a wide range of tough utilitarian domestic ware.” Source: https://collection.maas.museum/object/456855#:~:text=Johnsons%20opened%20their%20Australian%20factory,of%20tough%20utilitarian%20domestic%20ware.
The set includes 4 side plates, 4 cups, 4 saucers & 1 milk jug. Decorated in the very groovy & slightly less common , “Sunflowers” design. The saucers & jug are in matching chocolate brown….very 70’s / early 80’s!
Johnson of Australia dinner ware is very collectable for lovers of “retro” ware. This set is in great condition without chips, cracks or discoloration.
