A very rare bird. A 1980’s drop-waist dress by Sydney artist & designer in the late 70’s to 80’s, Katie Pye.
“A controversial designer who was at her height in the 80’s. Her pieces were very ‘ethnic inspired’.” (Quote by Tom McEvoy.) Definitely not a mainstream label – more fashion as art.

This is quite a subtle drop waist 80’s dress, but simple stunning on. Made with high quality, heavy, almost calico weight cotton. Loads of material in the skirt….with pockets! The perfect summer dress that will never date. Unfortunately there are some very faint yellow stains on the skirt, but due to the volume of material they are hard to notice on wearing (reflected in price). Apart from that it is in fantastic condition.
Best fit is a smaller busted 10. (Sorry D’s & above there is no stretch at all)….A highly collectible item.
