Description
A wonderful quirky 1980’s era stretchy and unusual tube dress by an iconic Australian label that has since gone…Tussi Australia.
Sidney Sernack, a longtime retailer that brought Mary Quant to Australia, was the brain behind Tussi. The extract below is taken from: https://www.smh.com.au/national/sidney-sernack-retailer-who-introduced-bikini-and-mary-quant-label-to-australia-20160914-grfwty.html
“Sernack’s decision to specialise in ladies’ coats and suits brought instant success. His ability to anticipate the trends, and to source materials and designs from London, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, saw his business grow and diversify during the 1970s and 1980s. Despite a number of financial and trading failures, he reached the pinnacle of his fashion career in 1984 when the Tussi label won the After Five section of the FIA awards.”
This is a fun dress, that although very ’80’s, also comes across as very contemporary. It is wonderfully comfortable to wear, with loads of stretch.
How about those fantastic sleeves!!?? They turn a basic dress into something very funky.
It’s in great condition and will best fit an Australian size 12 to 14.
